There is Nothing to Fear
May 16, 2020
Does a flower get nervous as its petals unfolds?
Does the lake refuse to reflect what it beholds?
When a bird sings does anxiety hold it back?
Then be not afraid there’s something you lack.
Would the moon hide because its not the sun?
The ocean is bigger, but does a river not run?
Would a tree in summer refuse you its shade?
Then how could I refuse you my fairest maid?
Fear not that you are in my mind some ideal
What I want is to be with someone that’s real
I know that like me you are made out of clay
While you’re my muse, you’re not unreal fae.
Let all these worries and petty anxieties go
Don’t tremble, you’re safe to bare your soul.
